Every week, I talk to smart, talented creators who feel stuck.
Not because they lack ideas.
Not because they don’t care.
But because their brains are fried, their tabs are overflowing, and the work they want to do is buried under digital dust and self-doubt.
So on this week’s How You Profit Show, we tackled the real stuff—three creator challenges that show up in everyone’s business, and what to actually do about them.
But first, a word from our (very fake) sponsor:
Procrastinade™
The energy drink that gives you 3 hours of focus…
but only after you’ve cleaned the fridge, rewritten your About page, and scrolled Substack 19 times.Procrastinade: “You’ll get there. Eventually.”
Now let’s get into it.
1. Perfectionism: The Pretty Cage
You know how it goes.
“This isn’t ready.”
“It’s not deep enough.”
“It needs to be more polished. More viral. More… whatever.”
So you tweak. And tweak again.
And pretty soon? You’ve created a masterpiece that no one will ever see.
Because it’s still sitting in your Google Drive.
Here’s the uncomfortable truth: Perfectionism is selfish.
You’re depriving the people who need you most—all because your ego wants to “get it right.”
💡 The fix?
Start ugly. Publish often.
You can always improve a live thing.
But you can’t change what you never release.
2. Procrastination: The Cousin of Perfectionism
Perfectionism’s close cousin is procrastination.
It sounds like:
→ “I’ll start once I feel inspired.”
→ “I’ll do it after this one course.”
→ “I just need to clear my inbox first…”
You’re not lazy. You’re overwhelmed.
Your brain hits snooze because the task feels massive—even when it’s really not.
💡 The fix?
Shrink the task.
Set a 15-minute timer and just start.
Let your brain know, “This doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to begin.”
Action creates clarity.
Clarity fuels momentum.
And if you need a reframe?
When you’re tempted to procrastinate, procrastinate about procrastinating.
Do it now. You can always procrastinate later. 😉
3. Digital Dust: The Content Clutter Trap
This one hits different.
You find a great post.
Bookmark it.
Save it for later.
Leave the tab open.
And then… nothing.
You feel like you’ve done something, because you engaged.
But there’s no result. No implementation. Just a cluttered brain and 37 tabs.
💡 The fix?
Stop hoarding. Start processing.
Ask yourself:
→ Why did this resonate?
→ What’s one thing I can do with it this week?
